Amsat Oscar 10 (P3B)
(2017-10-02) PE1ITR
The first qso's I made was via satellite Oscar 10. This was a great experience because it was the first time that a high elliptical orbiting amateur radio satellite was on.
It enabled to make qso's over great distances on VHF/UHF.
OSCAR 10 was launched June 16, 1983. That time I was in high school and this was my equipment:
Uplink: 19el Tonna Yagi 20W output. Homemade transverter 144 -> 432MHz. TRX a FT290 tuned to 147MHz
Downlink: 9 el Yagi. pre-amp IC-202.
No elevation control, but the best DX is worked when the satellite is low on the horizon :-). I had no computer.
Every sunday around 22:00u local time Nico PA0DLO was announcing satellite passes and I wrote this down on a piece of paper.
